16-year-old schoolgirl suddenly dies in Gomel

The tragedy in the regional center occurred on Monday, March 11: a student of school No. 1 entered an ambulance medical facility. The doctors did their best to save the tenth grader, but the young Gomel woman died on the same day.

According to Velikanova, the girl was taken to hospital in serious condition – she showed signs of a generalized bacterial-viral infection.

"According to preliminary conclusions, the fulminant course of meningococcal infection was the cause of death," the pediatrician said.

Now in the secondary school, where the tenth grader studied, the necessary preventive measures are being taken, doctors have already examined all the children with whom she could be in contact recently.

As Sputnik previously reported, the Gomel city department of the Investigative Committee took up the incident – an audit is being carried out on the death of a schoolgirl, the necessary examinations have been appointed.
