MINSK, Apr 17 – Sputnik. Russian writer and journalist Dmitry Bykov was brought into the medical coma, Igor Molchanov, chief resuscitator and anesthesiologist at the Ministry of Health, told the Moscow news agency.

"He is now on artificial respiration in a medical coma. His condition is assessed as severe," said the physician.
The doctor added that all necessary adjustments to the treatment plan of Bykov were made. At the same time, the Ministry of Health said they did not see the need to transfer the patient to Moscow from Ufa.
Earlier, a source of RIA Novosti reported that the preliminary diagnosis of 51-year-old Bykov is "an acute violation of the blood circulation of the brain."
Bykov was urgently hospitalized on April 17. He became ill during the flight from Yekaterinburg to Ufa, where he was to receive his lecture.
