Coltrane is primarily known as the performer of the role of the half-great Hagrid in a series of films about the wizard Harry Potter.
As the publication found out, recently the actor is confined to a wheelchair. For many years he suffered from osteoarthritis, because of which he experienced severe pain in his knee and walked with a cane for some time.
Now the disease is progressing. As a result, Coltrane almost lost the ability to walk: the cartilage in his knee almost disappeared, his joints suffered seriously.
Soon, the 68-year-old actor will undergo surgery in the United States. Both he and his fans hope that after surgery they will succeed in standing up.
Coltrane, in addition to Harry Potter, played in the films Nuns on the Run, Out of Hell, Montana, and dozens of others. The actor also played in the theater and appeared on television.
